 Ratusz- the History of this building dates back to the XIII century.  The primitive building was wooden and he probably burnt down
during the assault of the Lithuanian in 1349 r. The XIV age raised anew of brick in the second half had
form of the tower in the square base, higher octagonal. At the end XV in. the octagon of the tower was undressed, and the building was extended to the north sending 
for him plan of the elongated rectangle. Royal lock - raised on the Vistula on the high hill. 
The castle, mentioned in the XI century by Gall of Anonim as one of prince's registered offices became primitive
in the XII century with residence of Sandomierz princes. At first probably he was wooden as well as other contemporary locks and surrounded with embankment they were becoming woody - earth, and przedwałem with the palisade and the moat. The built castle was built in poł.  The XIV age by Great Kazimierz.
The reconstruction of the medieval castle to the Renaissance residence took place during governments of the king
Of Old Zygmunt in years 1520 - 1526 according to the project of the champion of Benedict, of builder of the Castle
Royal on the Wawel. In 1656 Swedes blew the lock up.  It rescued only a west wing with towers,
who in the eighties of the XVII age to the order of Jan III Sobieski was transformed
into the main castle corps of the palace type.  After the last disassembly of Poland the lock was exchanged by Austrian authorities for the court and the prison, 
who was held there all the way to 1959. At the beginning of the 19th century remains of ancient buildings were knocked down on a castle courtyard and he was surrounded with wall new, in a semicircle running.
Sandomierz 27 - millenary delightfully situated city on the Vistula river escarpment.  Św church. of Jakub - besides the Gothic style initiated in Poland by Cistercian monks other architectural current developed initiated through two ” beggar's orders  i.e. of Franciscans and Dominican friars, of whom rule 
monastic ordered depositing monasteries in densely populated housing estates. For Dominican Republic were a preacher's, established order in 1216 r. and get to Poland by the bishop great sallow of Odrowąż who settled them in 1221 r. in Cracow whereas in 1226 r. in Sandomierz. From the southern side a chapel was built on mansjonarzy with the sacristy. Till the half of the XVII century the spatial arrangement of the church didn't change. On zdj. Plan of the Cathedral.  Sandomierz murals being in a Department funded is driving Władysław Jagiello c of year 1420 
they are standing out with the iconographic richness and they are one of the most valuable examples monumental
of medieval painting. In 1960 the Pope Jan XXIII took the temple out into the dignity of the smaller basilica.
 Opposite the Cathedral he is standing built in years 1737 - 1743, in the place Gothic, the baroque belfry holds three bells: large im. Św. of Michał of the Archangel with date 1667 r., 
smaller im. of Most saint Mary of the Virgo with date 1750 r. and small undated. Small manor house within the Old Town of Sandomierz Of belfry leading the view of the St Mary's street in the direction of Katedryi St Mary's Rd - view from the castle toward the Cathedral and farther of Main Market  Episcopal palace: raised in years 1861 - 64 of materials coming from the demolition of churches for Maria of Magdalena and św. of Piotr.  Classical, crowned with the low attic upstairs a pilastrowe and a frieze have divisions with the bust in lockets.  The north-western corner in the form of the semicircular break holds the chapel upstairs.  At the front the palace is preceding the little surrounded small garden by the metal fence, at the back the bigger garden is surrounding the high wall.
Collegium Gostomianum 
  	        On the edge of the high escarpment on the eastern side of the old town, with the extensive view on the Vistula valley, a huge building of the former Jesuit magistrates' court is being erected.
On the hill, on whom the building is standing in X-XI in. a medieval settlement existed, and then at church graveyard.  After liquidating the order in 1773 r. secular schools were put in buildings. 
In 1813 r. the entire complex of buildings burnt down, and wrecks of the church and the noon wing were undressed in XIXw.
In years 1820 - 1826 was rebuilt existing to today eastern wing.
The building is representing modern, one could say the palace type of the monastery with corner pavilions. House of Jan Długosz - the XV age funded in the second half for priests mansjonarzy, of assistant curates of the local collegiate church 
by Jan Długosz of the Sandomierz canon.
 Building erected by Jan's champion from Cracow on stone underpinning of brick about the so-called Polish Gothic agreement, decorated with irregular arranged rhombi around is zendrówki with interesting example of the perpendicular slowly standing residential building. In the XIX century after dissolving the congregation the mansjonarzy building fell into ruin. In years 1934 - 1935 object thoroughly they were restoring for the purposes of the Diocesan Museum. 
During the restoration all primitive elements were kept removing more later adaptations
and foreign influences.
A characteristic multiroute layout behaved, stairs to the level made in the thickness of the wall, frames of holes made of white sandstone, partly reconstructed. 
The ancient big entrance hall from functional considerations was divided in two.
House to today with one's appearance and the arrangement of the inside resembles the one too of times of Jan Długosz. Small streets and tenements of the Old Town. Balconies nice decorated with flowers of tenements of the city. St Mary's Rd, take-off from the main Market toward the Cathedral Bourgeois tenements around the Marketplace of the old town raised from XV in. kept a lot of valuable details architectural, attesting to the rich historical past of these buildings in their walls. Gł market. and built town hall in XIV in., extended in XVI in. (attic), one of the most beautiful Renaissance objects of this type in Poland.
Tenement about bright plaster - called the Tenement Oleśnica, observed the primal spatial arrangement.  In this tenement in 1570 representatives Polish luteran, of Calvinists and Czech brothers they concluded the permission and they drew the binding catechism up. There is an entry to an Underground tourist route from the courtyard of this tenement. Gate Opatowska - too of times of Great Kazimierz together with curtain walls four gates were built. 
Closest the castle from the south a gate was found Krakowska destroyed round about 1770, from the east called the Fishing gate also Lublin still in the seventeenth century whereas destroyed from the north
at the exit of the current street of Sokolnicki gate Zawichojska and only existing to today Gate Opatowska. Balconies nice decorated with flowers of tenements of the city.  Raised of brick on the squared group moved close, with the ride about typically Gothic, ogival shape with the stone frame. whom a superb view stretches to the city and surroundings from.  Św church. of Michał together with the complex of the former monastery of Benedictine nuns - built in XVII / kept the XVII age in the unchanged form shoulder forms.
Św church. Michał and the former monastery of young girls of Benedictine nuns was raised in the sequence of the XVII age from the foundation for Zofia Sieniakowska according to Michał's project Cord. The church is single-nave covered with kolebkowo-krzyżowymi vaults supported by redoubled, Ionic pilasters.  The church is preceding the little small garden separated from the street by the fence and the pulpit. The pobenedyktyński team is an outstanding example of the art of baroque monastic architecture in Poland.  From 1903 here a Higher seminary is located. Stone portals and peaks crowned with statues form the rich architecture of the building. Year in the interior, partly wiped out by the fire in 1966, kept beautiful carved pulpit from the XVII century. At the monastery a very rich team of fabrics behaved from XVII-XVIII of the age.  Św church. of Józef św ściół together with the complex of the former monastery of Members of the Order of the Reformati raised in XVII w.Ko. Józef and the former monastery of members of the Order of the Reformati is youngest of historic churches of Sandomierz. Built in years 1679 - 89 of brick coming from the demolition of the castle in Zawichoście.  Offside in 1809, repeatedly rebuilt, saved a few epitaphs in the modest, baroque interior. In front of the church a rectangular courtyard is, surrounded with baroque wall with chapels of the way of the cross and the goal. Monastic buildings and a big garden are adjoining to the south wall of the church, surrounded with high wall.  To the curiosity of the św church. of Józef a mummified body belongs Morsztynówny, resting in the glazed coffin in vaults of the church.

Zakochałem się w Sandomierzu od pierwszego spojrzenia. Ta galeria mnie w tym utwierdziła. Galeria Twoja - Mocar jest wzorcowa, bo ma krótka charakterystykę jako całości i opis pod każdym zdjęciem. Za to wszystko dostałeś od mnie "10". Pozdrawiam.

Piękne miasto, ładna galeria chyba specjalnie zrobiona li tylko dla Obieżyświata - niestety nasze galerie powstają z wycinków zdjęć na których są fotografowane osoby i dlatego są takie kaszaniaste.

A ja byłam ale chyba 100 lat temu, muszę sie tam wybrać ponownie , piekne miejsce. Choć pogoda Ci nie dopisała , to i tak nie odebrała nic urokowi tego miejsca:)))

Dołączam do zawstydzonych. A wstyd jeszcze większy, że to film "Ojciec Mateusz" uświadomił mi, że chcę to miasto zobaczyć. Ale poczekam do wiosny. Chcę to miasto zobaczyć w słońcu (ciekawe, że im w tym serialu zawsze świeci słońce, a nam do zdjęć to niekoniecznie - to niesprawiedliwe!). A jak już pojadę, a słońca nie będzie, to będę siedzieć tam tak długo aż wyjdzie zza chmur! Co mi tam. Choćbym miała cały urlop na to stracić.
Dzięki Mocar za piękną galerię i za zachętę do odwiedzenia Sandomierza, choć jak z dużym, dużym wstydem przyznałam zachęcił mnie banalny serial. Pozdrawiam
